Our Weekend!

We had a great but busy weekend. Wade was the cutest little dragon and LOVED wearing his costume all three nights. By Sunday night he was worn out...so we didn't stay too long at my old church's fun fest. We did take him to my parents neighborhood to trick or treat at a few houses. He was so cute and would say "twick or tweat" when he went to the door!! Here are some pictures from our "trick or treating" in downtown Apex on Saturday night.

Sunday night was a nightmare...Wade did not want to go to bed and I figured he was overly tired from the weekend. He finally went down about 915p and we did to because we were so tired. Around midnight I hear this awful noise called Stridor. Stridor goes along with Croup and it is a noise signaling that his airway is inflamed or tight. (It is a horrible noise for a parent to hear) So immediately I turned on the shower and we sat in the bathroom for about 10 minutes and it really helped. We went ahead and gave him his inhaler as well and he seemed to relax a little. We did not sleep at all until about 5am. We went back and forth about taking him to the ED but after the shower he did not have any more stridor so we stayed home. He was better yesterday and then of course got worse again around supper time and so we took him to Urgent Care. It was funny because Josh has been sick too so they both got to be seen!! Josh has a sinus infection and Wade's O2 sats were a little low and he was wheezing so he earned himself a Neb treatment and was sent home with some steroids. The good thing is the doctor thinks it is lower airway related and not croup or upper airway related. I am afraid Wade is going to get Asthma from Josh. He is showing all the signs of it and when he gets a cold it seems like he is prone to having some respiratory distress. They don't usually diagnose until after two years old but I am guessing he will have it :(   Today he is better but we are having to use his inhaler every 3-4 hours and he is still a little labored but nowhere as bad as last night. I am hoping the steriods will kick in soon. I am debating asking his doctor to give us a script for a nebulizer so we can try treating him at home this winter instead of having to take him in so often. Does anyone know if insurance covers those??? Here are some pictures from Sunday night at the other fall fest and Wade helping carve our pumpkin and trick or treating for the first time. Sorry I took a ton of pictures!

I love this picture...Wade loves to eat ice at my parents house for some strange reason. I think it is because they have an ice maker that makes the little or "baby" ice as Wade likes to call it. So the fall fest had snowcones and we got Wade one without any flavoring and you would have thought it was the best treat he had ever had. He loved the little crushed ice and we loved him not having all the sugar!!
