Happy Halloween!

Tonight was Wade's first Halloween and he had a great time... however he was a little tired because he slept until 9:15am this morning so he missed his morning nap and just slept 2 hours this afternoon. By 6pm he was so tired. We got him dressed and we took him up to church to the fall festival. It was so nice for all the kids and they even had a free hot dog/chili supper. Not to mention the fried snickers and oreo's!! We had to treat ourselves since it was Halloween. It was great to get to see all of our friends too. My "little" cow

Ready to go to the festival
This was a couple of days ago. I just loved this pirate shirt I found at kid to kid. Its hard to see in the picture because he is leaning over, but its so cute. That has got to be one of the best places to get kids clothes. Everything is so cheap. We also got his cow costume there for only $6. Well tomorrow we are going to just relax and hang around the house. Hopefully Wade will sleep well tonight... I have always heard that kids get all messed up when daylight savings time comes around. Hopefully it will only take a day or two for him to get in the swing of things. I am so excited for an extra hour of sleep. Happy Halloween. Oh I forgot to mention Josh and I started dating 4 years ago tonight. Its hard to believe we have been together that long and married 2 1/2 years next month. Not a great night to remember so we have always said Nov. 1st. (even though we don't count this as an anniversary anymore, now we just do our wedding date)

Josh's Birthday Part 2...

Josh's Birthday dinner

Cousins- Wade & Peyton I forgot to mention that Josh and I had a great date night for his birthday. We went to dinner and a movie and it was so fun. Couples Retreat was pretty cute but not as good as Hangover. Josh has gotten to choose the last two movies we have seen so it is definitely my turn next time. Thanks Mimi for babysitting!!
This weekend we packed up and headed to Winston to see Josh's family and celebrate his birthday. Josh felt pretty special to celebrate two weekends in a row. Mom and I went by Ashley's Friday to see her place and it was really cute. We didn't stay long because she had to work that night but we were able to grab a quick bite to eat and spend and hour or so together. Then Josh picked us up and we headed to his parents house. They only live 25 minutes from Ashley. We hung out with his parents and watched a movie Friday night. Saturday we took Wade to see his great grandparents and then went over to see Matt, Kendal, & Peyton and their new house. It was so good to see them and catch up. We planned to take the kids to a neighborhood Halloween hay ride/party but it was rained out. We love their new neighborhood. We also have to give a big CONGRATS to them... I have been waiting to say anything until Kendal starting telling people but they are pregnant again!!! We are so happy for them and Peyton. But the big news is... they are pregnant with TWINS!!!!! Peyton is going to be a great big sister. She did really well with Wade. Wade is going to be so excited to have 3 cousins sometime this spring. Saturday night we all went to Fill station (an old gas station turned into a restaurant in downtown Winston) and it was so good. We had a great time celebrating Josh's birthday and seeing everyone. Sunday we went with Josh's parents to Pilot Mountain to go hiking. It is the best time of year to go. It was so pretty. We were all dying but the time the 4 mile hike was over. I know Josh was tired carrying Wade in the backpack. Wade did great, we hiked for 1 1/2 hours and he didn't make a sound, just smiled. Of course I was nervous because of all the rocks and steps and the leaf's made it a little slippery. We were so thankful that we had a safe trip... however Charlie and I were in the front and as we were walking by some mountain climbers we heard them start yelling "rock falling" and this bolder fell right in front of us. After that I was so thankful to be back to the car safely. I am so glad that no one was hit with the rock because it would have been horrible. We were all so tired but had a great weekend!

P.S

I forgot to mention we are ear infection free. The antibiotics worked great. I was pretty sure his ears would be clear today because we have our good sleeper back. We hardly every hear him anymore...occasionally he realizes his paci is out and we have to stick it back in. He sleeps from 8pm to 6am (eats) then sleeps until 8:30am. I would love to knock out that feeding and just feed and get up at 7 or 7:30 but he is starving so for now it works great. Plus it is nice to sleep until 8:15 every morning. I try to get up and jump in the shower or pump before waking him up. If I don't wake him up he would sleep until 9am and miss his morning nap. So he gets up at 8:30 and eats oatmeal and plays then goes down for a nap from 10-11am.

6 Month Visit

Today Wade had his 6 month visit. We are a little behind because he will be 7 months on the 4th but I wanted to see the nurse practitioner again because I love her. She is young, cute and bubbly and Wade LOVES her! He flirts and smiles at her every time she talks to him, it is so cute. He did really well and is very healthy. His has started slowing down with his weight. He is 18lbs and 9 oz which is in the 70th percentile. (he was in the 90% at his 3 month visit). Surprisingly he is in the 80th percentile for height! He was 27 1/4 in. I am not sure where he is getting that from? Of course he did not enjoy his shot but he only cried for a minute. I hated he had to get one because he just had the flu shot on Tuesday. He did great with the flu shot. I thought he would have been fussy because I know mine hurt so much but you would have never known he had gotten it. We still don't know what to do about the H1N1 vaccine? They are encouraging us to get it. What is everyone else going to do? Wade has officially found his feet this past week and he loves them. He lays on his back and hold his feet all the time. He is still too chubby to get them to his mouth but he loves to grab them.
We are headed to Winston for the weekend and we are so excited to see Josh's family. Besides his parents his family has not seen Wade since May. He has changed so much since then. Mom and I are leaving tomorrow at lunch to go by and see my grandma and to see Ashley's apartment in Greensboro. I have not been able to go see it since she moved in in August. Wade has not traveled lately so hopefully he will do great. Hopefully he won't be too sore from his shot.

Happy Birthday Josh!

Tomorrow is Josh's 28th birthday. I knew I better post tonight or I would get busy tomorrow and forget to. So... Happy Birthday! Thanks for everything you do for us; you have no idea how much we appreciate it. We hope you have a great day, try not to work too hard. We love you very much. I am really not sure if Josh even looks at this blog, but hopefully he will.
Mimi is keeping Wade tomorrow night and Josh and I are going to dinner and a movie. We have heard that Couples Retreat is really cute so I think that is what he wants to see. It will be so nice for us to have an evening out. Even though I am sure we will talk about Wade the entire time. Speaking of Wade he is sitting up!!!! Now... he does not want to do it much but he is doing it when he is not tired. We practice a couple of times a day and he is getting so good at it. He can even sit straight up without leaning over and grabbing his feet. It is too cute. Well I am not sure why the video would not post maybe it was too long of a video??? Any suggestions on video posting?
Guess what just opened in Apex... a new super Walmart and it is really nice. You know you are a stay at home mom when you get really excited about an outing to super Walmart. Oh how things have changed!! (a good change though)

Wade's Pictures

Saturday we took Wade to have his 6 month pictures taken. We went to Picture People and we were really pleased with them. They turned out so cute! Of course Wade did not want to smile for many of the pictures but he gave us a couple of cute smiles. He get so shy when the camera comes out. There prices were also so reasonable so we will be taking him back for his 9 month pictures as well. There computer is messed up but once they send me the link I will post it so everyone can view them. We also got a cute video of Wade laughing at my parents dog Riley this weekend. Riley would get his ball and chew on it and Wade thought it was the funniest thing ever. The video is kind of long because he laughed few times then stopped for awhile and started again. He must have know the camera was out. If you watch it just watch the first part then fast foward through the middle then he does it again at the end. I am going to attempt to upload it. (well for some reason it would not upload... I will try again tomorrow)The antibiotics seems to really be working because he is sleeping much better. He has started this new thing when someone else is holding him and he see's me he starts to get fussy and reach. Secretly I love it because he wants his mommy but at the same time I want him to be flexible. I know it is just a stage and it will get better soon. He is changing so much each day. I can't believe how fast he is growing up.

A Few First's

Wade has been doing a few new things these days... he is growing up so much. He is rolling both ways now. He had only been going from back to stomach but now he can go both ways. Everytime we lay him down for naps/bedtime when we go back in he is on his stomach. At night we always try to turn him back over but we seem to mostly find him on his stomach in the morning. His antibiotics have started to work and he is sleeping so much better. Last night we put him down at 8pm and I didn't here him until after 4am. Of course I did not sleep much because I was just waiting for him to cry. He went back to sleep and got up around 6am to eat then back to bed until 8:15am. I think we are back on our way to having our good sleeper back. Wade has also started trying to use a sippy cup and is doing ok with it. He can hold it and get it in his mouth. He mostly just bites on the nipple. He also held his bottle by himself last night. He still needs a little help but is doing so well. Tomorrow we are taking him to Picture People for his 6 month pictures. Hopefully we will cooperate and smile for us. He is just growing up too fast!

Bad Mom award!

Ok so if there was an award for not noticing something was wrong with your child I would win for this week. Wade is one of the happiest babies I have ever been around. All day he laughs, smiles and plays and he goes right to sleep for his naps and bedtime without crying. With that said the last couple of weeks he has been waking up crying and not wanting to sleep at night. I did think it was strange because he has been sleeping through the night since he was 9 weeks old but I just blamed it on teething. Once you get him up out of bed he is smiling and laughing again. There were one or two nights that he was pretty fussy and wanted to be held. Usually some tylenol would do the trick. Well after almost two weeks of this I decided to just call the doctor since it was still going on and I could not see anymore teeth coming in yet. To my surprise they wanted to see him that day. I figured she would just tell me it was probably his teeth. So yesterday Josh and I took him in to see the doctor. We saw the same doctor Ashley and I used to go see. Well sure enough something was wrong with him. His four top teeth will be making an appearance any time now and he has a double ear infection???? I was shocked. He has not been fussy and has not had a fever etc. The doctor asked me if he had had a cold and it has been a couple of weeks since he had a runny nose.... so this entire time my sweet boy has probably been hurting from the pressure when he was laying down at night. Josh and I felt so bad. From now on we will always call when he is acting different. We started antibiotics yesterday and he will be on them for 10 days. We can also give motrin now that he is 6 months old so I gave him a dose last night. He slept much better. I am not ready for him to grow up yet but it will be nice when he can tell us what is hurting. I have not forgotten about his 6 month pictures... I will post those tonight. Now I need to go by him a new toy to make up for not taking him in sooner!

Pumpkin Patch!

Today we took Wade to the pumpkin patch. We had the best time. We took some pictures, picked out Wade's pumpkin and even went on a hayride. Wade loved the hayride. Here are some of our pictures.

6 Months Old!

It still doesn't seem right that my little boy will be 6 months old tomorrow. People told me it would fly by and it sure has. Some days I just look at him and wish he could stay this age. He is so much fun. Josh and I feel so blessed to be his parents. We just love him so much and love watching him grow and change each day. Here is what he is up to these days:

-He is wearing size 3 diapers and mostly 6-9 month clothes
-He eats three solid meals a day and is on a 4 hour schedule for nursing
-He is still our little chunky mokey.. he weighed 18lbs at 5 1/2 months
-He even has fat rolls around his wrists and ankles
-He loves his vegetables and we just tried fruit today and he seemed to like it too, he always says "MMMM" sound when eating and whines if we don't feed him fast enough
-He has just started trying to use a sippy cup with water in it but hasn't got the hang of it yet
-He has the cutest 2 bottom teeth and we feel like more are getting ready to come in
-He is napping a little better these days... one hour nap in the am and usually 1hr 30min in the afternoon, he sometimes takes a little catnap around 5pm
-He still sleeps pretty good at night but ever since he started teething he has been more restless... he usually wakes up a couple of times and whines or fake coughs (this is something new he does for attention) for a few minutes then goes back to sleep
-He loves waking up a 5am... we usually make him stay in bed until 6am then I feed him and put him back to bed until 8am
-He "talks" all the time- his new sounds are a cute squeal and "DaDa" He says DaDa all the time, he also makes lots of "boy" sounds (grunting, lion sounds etc)
-He still loves bath time
-He loves being outside and going for walks
-He has rolled over but does not do it often, just a couple of times
-He is sitting with just a little bit of help
-He has the best personality and is so much fun
-I cannot remember the last time he cried during the day, sometimes he will whine at night when he wakes up; he is so laid back and we take him everywhere
-He has finally started interacting with Charlie and loves to rub/pull his hair
-He grabs EVERYTHING! We have to really watch him now
-He is still so cuddly and loves being held, sometimes he will even wrap his arms around our necks like he is hugging us
- We thank God everyday for this precious little boy!

We will post his 6 month pictures tomorrow, we have a busy day tomorrow so I decided to blog about him a day early
