Mexico!!

Well we are back from our trip and I have to say I was so thankful to see Wade but we are really missing Mexico today. Its funny how fast you get used to vacation life. We could not have asked for a better trip. Its funny because we have always wanted to go somewhere with another couple so when Carrie and Brandon mentioned doing a trip we could not have been more excited. We knew that we would have a blast with them and we did. We were so blessed we got to be such great friends while living in Greenville and are so thankful we have all stayed so close since we moved. Thanks guys for a great time we love you guys and hope we have many more years of vacationing together! We had the best weather ever and the hotel was amazing. The rooms were huge and so pretty; everyone had an ocean view. My favorite was the "relaxing" turn down service at night. They would light candles and get our room ready for bed(clean up, turn down the sheets and turn lamps on.) They  placed chocolates on the bed every night and even rose petals and a bottle of champagne one night. The food was great as well. There were lots of restaurants or you could always get room service. Of course we all ate too much and Carrie and I learned quickly that a "mango tango" may very well be the best frozen drink ever.

We did so much it would take forever to write all about it so here is the short version. We got there on Wednesday afternoon and got checked in and spent the rest of the day relaxing at the pool and eating. All day Thursday we layed at the pool (really all day from 11am-5pm). We did work out each morning and would head to the spa after that. The spa was the absolute best thing ever. Carrie and I would go from the sauna to the steam room to the jacuzzi. It was so relaxing! Friday we spent the day at Wet and Wild water park and did a swim with the dolphin's while we were there. Of course you could not take any pictures; they wanted you to pay $30 per picture so we all took some great mental pictures and it was such a neat experience. My favorite part was riding on the dolphins belly while they pulled us around. We went on all the water slides and got into the wave pool. I think Josh and Brandon had they most fun...they looked like two little kids racing down the slides! We were worn out that night but had an amazing dinner at Asiana- Japanese steak house. It was our favorite. Saturday we relaxed at the pool most of the day and of course spent some time at the spa that afternoon before dinner. Sunday we split the day in half and the first half we did the jungle boat tour where we drove a 2 person boat through the ocean and then stopped for 30 min of snorkeling. We saw some really neat fish and laughed a lot while trying not to touch the coral. We were so tired after that and went to the pool for some float and mango tango time! I have to say dinner our last night might have been one of the funniest dinners ever. It was supposed to be this extravagant 7 course meal but we did not really know what any of the 7 courses were except dessert and we laughed the entire time. It was very unique food to say the least. After each course we kept praying it was the last because we could  not eat any more. The chef's cooked right there in the room with us so it was hard not to try things and even harder not to make faces and laugh. We did have the best waiter ever... Guerimo. We had him twice and he was so funny. He always wanted to give us Tequila. We were so sad to pack up and leave on Monday but so thankful we had such a great vacation. I think everyone needs to get away and get spoiled at least once a year. Can't wait to plan something for next year!

Our flight was delayed so we did not get home until 815pm yesterday and poor Wade was all out of sorts. My parents had to wake him up when they got to the airport and we he saw us he screamed and cried like we were cutting his arms off. Similar to how he does when we pick him up from nursery and he remembers we left him. I think he remembered we were gone. Thanks to my parents and Ashley and Zach for taking such great care of our sweet boy. We really appreciate it and it was so nice not to have to worry about him.

  1. Ahhh... you are making me miss it all over again. I can't look at anymore pictures because I can't get out of this funk I'm in. I told Brandon that I think I need to go see a shrink about why I'm so depressed after vacation. We had the absolute best time ever. Its going to be hard to top this one! You guys are amazing friends and we are so glad you agreed to go! I know it was hard twisting Josh's arm and talking him into spending 6 days with me, but we're so glad we got to experience all of this together. So, where are we going next year? PS-- Its Mango Tango time right now. Almost 9:45 so the show is about to begin, then we have to go to bed because we are grandmas. Ha! I miss Cancun :(
