Don't you just love it when you plan something and it works out perfectly? Well that was my goal for Sunday and it actually worked!! I knew we would be heading to Josh's parents house around nap time but I also knew that it was only a 35min car ride and one little boy would wake up once we got there and he would be irritable for only sleeping 30min or less! Saturday he fell asleep so easily on the boat so I though maybe we could take the boat out before heading to their house on Sunday and maybe he would fall asleep again. We went to the Marina for one last lunch and on the way back Wade went right to sleep. We rode around for about 15 min to make sure he was really asleep. We already had the car loaded so we just put him right in and headed to Winston. Its amazing that I get excited about little things like this. He had a hour nap and he woke up so happy to see Nana and Poppy.
I knew we would be swimming and playing all afternoon and that is why I wanted him to sleep some. This child is so sweet unless he is really tired. Matt and Kendal and the kids came over and we all went swimming. I love that Josh's parents have a pool. Wade is going to love going to his grandparents house's! We had the best time. Wade LOVED the slide and even did it one time by himself. He is just so brave. He jumped off the diving board but was not too sure about doing that by himself yet. I had to hold his hands and place him in the water off the end of it. Peyton and Wade played so well together and it was so good to see everyone. We enjoyed some popsicles and then Nana took the big kids on a wagon ride and the 4 of us got to sit and talk. We can't wait to go back again. Here are some pictures of us playing at the pool. The boys are getting so big too. I didn't get a picture of both of them but I did get one with Poppy and Rylan.

A Great Weekend- part 1
We had the best weekend. Even though potty training was going on we had a lot of fun. We got to the lake around 5pm on Friday and once we got there we took the boat to the Marina for dinner. I LOVE the lake so much and this is by far my favorite part. It is a short 10 minute boat ride and the marina has a restarant attached to it and we love eating there. We went three times this weekend! Saturday we all went to breakfast at another little hole in the wall place called Panky's. After breakfast the girls went shopping and the boys took Wade back to go swimming. When I say shopping I mean a stand alone Belk's, Food Lion or Walmart. Oh it is so much different than Apex and I love it. There is a little strip mall with a few stores and that is it. We spent a lot of time on the boat, playing in the water, and riding Jet Ski's. Wade rode a few times with Josh and he had a blast. He kept telling him to go faster (they were going WAY too fast as it was!) Saturday night we went to Cook's with Zach's parents. Cook's is another place you must visit if you ever go to High Rock Lake. It is a BBQ place and it is really good. Wade went pee pee on the potty there and I was so proud. Beside's the pool this is the only place he had ever gone. He did the funniest thing...we had to wait our turn (which I was a little worried about!) and when the older lady came out of the stall Wade clapped and told her "good job." I just love this kid. Here are some pictures of our lake trip:
So here is Wade's new thing...he wants a towel wrapped around him when he is tired? I don't know where this came from. It started this Summer so I am thinking it is because I wrap him this way after the pool. It can be 90 degrees outside and if he is tired he cries for his towel?? He wants one on a night too when he goes to bed. He is always doing something like this that makes us laugh. He goes through these phases where he is attached to things!!
I love this picture of Josh and Wade. Don't worry we do have a inside shower at the lake but it is so much more fun to take one outside!!

Still learning
So even though I have been blogging for 2 years it seems like I am always learning something new about blogging. Thanks to Carrie for teaching me this!! So I have just added a "follow" button on the right side of our blog. If you click on the follow button (if you follow our blog) it will let you know when I update our page!! Hope this helps someone else!
Big Boy Underwear!
Here are a few pictures from this past weekend. This was the first time Wade has been in his big boy underwear. He did not want to have his picture taken so we did the best we could to take some Friday at my Grandma's house. I headed down to the lake on Friday with my mom and we stopped to see my grandparents on the way.
Showing us his Spiderman underwear...he would never look at the camera for me!
Here are a few cute one's of Wade playing at the lake in his underwear!!
We have laughed so hard at this one...Wade runs just like my mom (her arms move faster than her legs!!)
Lately!!
So I am a little behind again; we have been having a lot of fun and enjoying our Summer. We have spent a lot of time playing with friends, going to the pool, celebrating our anniversary, traveling to the lake, POTTY TRAINING, and just spending time as a family. Here are some pictures of what we have been up to the past two weeks!!
So wade has shocked all of us. He has had a potty for awhile now- we got it this past winter but we have never pushed him or tried to potty train. Every now and then I would take his diaper off after nap time and let him play in the playroom and bring the potty in there with us. Since March he has gone 3-4 random times but he really wasn't ready before now. We have a couple of potty books that we have read some but we really have not even been trying. I knew I wanted to try this October (at 2.5) because I wanted him potty trained before 3. Well Thursday- June 9th- Wade went after his nap and I made a HUGE deal about it and he then said "No more diapers!" (this is from one of his books at Mimi's house) Well everyone tells me do not miss the window of opportunity so we went with it and he has done GREAT. He has only had one or two accidents a day and today-June 14th- was a big day. Yesterday he stayed dry during his nap (he has NEVER done this) and last night he stayed dry ALL NIGHT (he has never ever wakon up in the morning with a diaper weighing less than 5lbs?) I really don't know how this happened; I was so shocked. He woke up early for some reason at 630am but because he had a diaper on I let him lay with me for an hour and I almost fell on the floor when I took his diaper off at 730am and it was dry. Poor guy I guess I should have tried at 630am but I had no idea he was dry. So he even held it another hour. He went from 830p last night until 730am without going. I know this may not happen again for awhile but it was a big deal today. He also pooped in the potty today for the first time and I wasn't even in the room. Lets just say he got a few surprises from Target today!! We are so proud of him.
I just love this picture...I wish you could see Wade's lip better; every time we tell him to close his mouth before he jumps he pushes his bottom lip out instead and it is so cute!!
This was playgroup last week. We celebrated Caroline's 1st birthday with some cupcakes at the pool! Wade was so excited about the cupcakes!!
I have finally gotten Wade to rinse off in the shower at the pool (thanks Colton.) The first time I tried he cried but once we made it a game and he saw someone else do it he was hooked!
My sweet husband surprised me with this on Thursday. We celebrated our 4th anniversary. Thanks Josh for 4 great years; I love you and I am so thankful for everything you do for us!! I hope we have many more years together.
We didn't do much since our trip was for our anniversary. We took wade to my mom and dad's....IN HIS NEW UNDERWEAR(more about that below) and then we went and ate at Peak City Grill in downtown Apex. It was so so good and we had a great time just sitting for an hour or so and talking.

JAMAICA!!
Here are some of our pictures from our trip. I had a hard time only picking a few out!! Our flight got delayed leaving and we got bumped to first class!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that is the way to fly. We got to the resort after 12 hours of travel and we were tired and hungry. The resort was much smaller than any we have stayed at before; I think we were disappointed at first but this turned out to be a great thing because we met some great new friends. We didn't know it was rainy season and it did rain a couple of times. Mostly it was just over cast...this turned out to be a good thing because I got FRIED the first day we were there. I put sunscreen on and I don't know what happened but I can't ever remember burning that bad. This was the first year I did not tan before our trip (I do not like tanning beds) so I think I was just so pale and the Jamaican sun was so hot. I am now peeling all over and it is lovely. The last day was sunny off and on and it was really nice. We had so much fun with the Nicholson's. We just love them. We slept a lot, ate some great food, enjoyed poolside games and nightly entertainment, and just enjoyed relaxing at the pool. We spent one day off the resort and we climbed the Dunn's River Falls and went to Mystic Mountain and rode the sky lift and the bobsled ride. The Falls is a must if you are in Jamaica. I don't have any pictures of that yet because I took a disposable camera with me. We loved it so much and we hope we get to go back one day!! I missed Wade but it is always so nice for Josh and I to get away alone for a few days.
Josh and his mimosa in 1st class!!
We spent a lot of time doing this and taking the Hobie out.
We just fell in love with these guys. This first picture is Starr and he was part of the entertainment team along with Jason and Mickhugh (in the picture below.) These guys were so funny and they called us their "family" while we were there. Thank goodness for Facebook because we can keep in touch with them. On the last night Jason and Mickhugh took Josh and I and another couple we met to Margaritaville. We were a little worried about leaving the resort at night (well I was) but we really trusted these guys. The hotel bus took us and we had a blast. Margaritaville was filled with the locals and lots of college kids. We felt like the almost 30 year olds who didn't belong. I am so thankful we did this; we had such a great time!! We really miss these guys and hope to see them again one day. The other resorts we have stayed at were much bigger and we didn't get to know the staff; this was what made this place so special. Chadwick (our pool waiter) was fantastic and we really miss him too!!!
So happy to see this cute boy!!

Back To Reality!!
Well we are back and are finally getting settled. I feel like it has taken me so long to get housework and laundry caught up so I have not even attempted to blog. We had an absolute blast in Jamaica and we were so sad to leave. I will have to do a post just about our vacation. We loved it so much we are thinking about going back before too long!! Everything is finally un-packed and most of the laundry is done!!! We are settling into our normal routine again. We haven't been doing too much this weekend and it is lovely. We took Wade to the pool today for a couple of hours and had so much fun. I wish everyone could see how brave he is. He is jumping in and going all the way under and "swimming" to the side. He wears his little puddle jumper and it works great. He also loves to float on his back all over the pool and he has learned to stick his face in and blow bubbles and he thinks this is so funny. I took the video camera today because he is just too cute. Tomorrow we are going to church and then we have some much needed yard work to do and we are going to organize the garage a little bit more. I am so thankful for our wonderful vacation but I am also thankful for a weekend at home to get some stuff done. The best part about our weekend is that I am working from home tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am all set up and ready to go. It took awhile for me to get here because I was waiting on a computer from work and then we moved so it was delayed a little bit. I have to go into work some but mostly I will be working from home. I am working six shifts this month and I only have to go into work twice. I am so excited because that gives me an extra hour at home since I don't have to drive to Chapell Hill. Nursing school was so much work but I am so thankful that I can have a job with so much flexibility and with evening hours. I miss the hospital so much but while we have small kids 12 hr shifts just don't work. I think one day when our kids (we plan to have more one day!!) are in school I will go back but for now I love my 4 and 6 hour shifts so much!!
