Happy Mother's Day!

It's hard to believe that today was my second Mother's day. I have to say it was just as great as my first Mother's Day. Thanks to my great husband for making the day so special and letting me pick how we spent our day.  I served in the nursery at church today for both services and Josh served during the second one. Wade did great in the walker room today mainly because that was the room Josh was serving in!! On a good note he did better last night we went left him during service. After church we went to mom's and had lunch with them and Ashley and Zach. We had a great lunch! We headed home for nap time and all three of us took a nap. It was the best thing ever. We all slept 2 hours. We took Wade to mom and dad's after our nap and Josh and I went for a jog at the Reservoir. It was so much cooler today and a great day for a jog. We ate some leftover's for dinner with my parents and Wade played outside and then we headed home to put Wade to bed. I could not have asked for a better day. Oh and my mother's day present.... getting this blog printed into a book. The website www.blog2print.com will turn your blog into a book. I can't wait to get it!!!!! I am so thankful I started this blog and now I have so many great memories from his first year of life. I am so thankful for my sweet family and I love being a Mommy.

This was Mother's Day last year (2009)- One month old

Mother's Day 2010 (13 months old)
Wade,
Thank you for being the sweetest little angel. Today was the best Mother's day I could have asked for. You slept until 745am.  Daddy brought you into our room to cuddle this morning you just smiled so big and layed with me for about 10-15 minutes. You put your sweet little head down on my chest and gave me a big hug and I could have just eaten you up. When Daddy brought you into our room you started saying "Momma" when you saw me and that was the best present I could have asked for.  I love our special time together in the mornings when you are so cuddly. That is the only time of the day you will lay still with mommy. I am so thankful God gave you to us and being your mom has been so much fun. I love your sweet and silly personality and your big smile and cute dimples. I love that you are so busy and smart and that you do something funny every day to make me laugh. I have the best job in the entire world... staying home and taking care of you. Thank you for being the best little boy in the whole world. I love being your mommy.
Love, Momma

Show us Your Life- Baby Names

I usually don't participate in Kelly's Korner "Show us your life" Friday's but I love baby names so I though this week I would participate a few days late. This week is show us your baby names or future baby names. Growing up my sister and I always talked about what we would name our children and I can't remember many of the names I used to like except Hudson. I always thought I would name a boy Hudson if I had one. Well Josh and I both liked the name a lot but it has gotten so popular in the last few years so we decided not to use it. We almost used it for Wade's middle name but liked the way Harrison sounded better.

So how did we come up with Wade.... the funny thing is neither one of us can remember the exact night we decided. We looked at family names and really didn't have one that we loved. I really wanted to use one of our grandparents names but let me explain why we did not... Melba, Arnetta, Claudine, Alice, Farrell, Sarlie, Herbert, and Earl! Bless their hearts I love every one of the them but I did  not love their names for our child.  I love Farrell for a girl but Farrell Foltz just doesn't do it for me. My grandad Earl's real name is Aubrey Earl so if we ever have a little girl Aubrey may be a contestant. He is a great man. My Maternal grandmother's maiden name is Flemming and I liked that for a boy but once again Flemming Foltz would have gotten made fun of at school!!

So long story short we loved Wade... just a random name we liked. Simple, different, cute, but not off the wall. We knew there would most likely not be another Wade in his class. We also really loved Josh's middle name but we both wanted to use Wade as a first name and did not love Wade Nolan. So maybe if we have another boy we will use Nolan as a middle name? Harrison was a name the girls at work mentioned and I really liked it so I went home and asked Josh about it and he loved it. I was leaning towards Wade Hudson but after much discussion we picked Harrison and it fits him great. (Josh always said his name sounded athletic and that was important to him) I love his name and I am so happy we went with it. Wade Harrison we hope you grow up to love your name as much as we do!

Now for future children we may never decide on a name. We don't have the exact same taste. I like different names and Josh likes just a few names. For boys he likes Luke, Max, now his new favorite is Axton (me not so much). I love Luke but WAY too common for me. For girls he likes: He does not really like girl names because he wants another boy. He likes London (actually one of my fav's too), Eva, and Rivers, and thats it. Now if I liked Rivers it would be great because it is my maternal grandmother's maiden name and she was an amazing lady. It just doesn't do much for me.  For boys I love: Weston, Walker, Bennett, Colson, I know there are others but boy names are harder for me. For girls I love:  Miller (my favorite), Landry, Adalyn Kate, Aubrey Claire, Halle, London, Rowan, Eden Kate or any double name! I love using a double name for a little girl if we had one but I am not sure what I would put with Miller!!!!

Lake- Part 2

Here are the rest of the pictures from our weekend. Wade loved playing in the water so much that we got his little pool out on Sunday after his nap. He had so much fun playing with all of his toys in the water. I think he would have stayed in there forever. Other than the boat/water Wade's favorite thing to do is ride the golf cart or help cut the grass. He loves lawnmowers and gets so excited when we see anyone cutting grass. Lawnmower is the first 3 syllable word he has said. It is so cute how he says it la-mow-mer. It just makes me laugh every time I hear him say it.

Showing us how old he is

This past week he has really started saying more and more. I think we are going to have a talker in the house. He has mastered Dada, Momma, yum, bye bye, bubble, ball, dog, wa-wa (water), ticka (tickle), baby, ba-ba (sippy cup), pop (pops-my dad), nana (banana), wow (he says this when we see "big trucks" on the road), B- bu (school bus). He tries so hard to say bird (bir).
He also still has his own language which we cannot understand! He has started saying yea which drives me crazy and we always try to get him to say yes instead but he can only say yea. His new thing is dancing... anytime he hears music those chubby little legs bend and he dances. I have to get it on video it is so sweet.

So excited about his eggs

Lake- Part 1

After much discussion we decided to head to the lake again this past weekend. We both love it so much there but had a hard time deciding if we wanted to travel. We realized we will not be able to go back until June because of my work schedule and our trip to Mexico so we decided to go. I am so glad we did we had great weather and so much fun. Of course I took way too many pictures! They turned out so cute and Wade had a blast. He is a water baby for sure. He could have cared less that the water was freezing. He kept trying to get in. Finally on Saturday Afternoon we took him over to my Aunt's place where he could sit on her little beach area and play in the sand/dirt and water. We had so much fun cooking out, riding the boat and golf cart, eating at the pier and just hanging out with family. It is so nice to have both sides of the family there. My dad's brother has the house beside us and my mom's sister and my cousin both have place's just a couple of house down from us. It is so nice just to be able to walk from house to house and visit. Wade had a blast walking all over the neighborhood. We live on this small street that has no traffic unless it is one of us so it is a great place for the kids to play. I had to work Sunday evening so we had to leave around 2pm and we just hated having to come home. Things are so much slower paced at the lake... no one wears a watch and the only plans we ever make are deciding whether to cook out for meals or to take the boat to the pier (Tamarak) to eat. We could really get used to lake life! Here are some of the pictures, I will post the ones of Wade playing in the water tomorrow.

Here are some pictures from two weekends ago when Wade started walking. These were taken on Sunday April 25th after church. He is so busy it is now even harder to get a good picture of him. My parents came home early from the lake to help us with some much needed yard work and Wade got to ride in the wheel barrel for the first time. He had the best time playing outside while we got some work done. It was so nice to be able to let him walk around in the grass by himself. I have to say I do not miss bending over holding those sweet hands that much!

Mr. Independent

Well I thought last week I officially had a walker in the house; boy was I wrong. I thought the 10-12 steps he was doing were keeping my busy! Friday Wade decided to prove me wrong. I was in the other room and I looked up and Wade was walking towards me. I was shocked. I said "what are you doing walking?" He just smiled so big and was so proud of himself. Since Friday he has just improved and is walking/running all over the house. He even stops and claps for himself! Last week he would do 10-12 steps and then fall down. Well not now he is going everywhere and even turning around and coming back. If you try to grab his hand and direct him the way you want him to go he nicely pushes your hand away and walks where he wants to go. We are so proud of him. He kept us so busy this weekend but we love it. He has been so tired at night because he walks so much during the day. Today he walked all around the yard. My parents were shocked because he was not doing this Thursday before they left for the lake. He is also talking up a storm. I honestly think he picks up a new word every day. He is so serious when he talks and wants you to listen and acknowledge him. It cracks me up. I just shake my head and say "is that right" and he just keeps babbling. He is saying momma, dadda, ba-ba (sippy cup), banana, dog, ball, yum, byebye, melmo(elmo), bbb is bird. We went to my Papaw's house today and he almost said his name.

We were driving in the car last week and I always play his Bible songs for him to listen to and "This little light of mine" came on and I looked back at him and bless his sweet heart... he had his little finger up and was moving his hand from side to side. I could have just eaten him up. He is so good at holding his "number 1" up and my mom taught him "This little light" when she kept him last weekend. I had not seen him do it yet. His newest thing this past week was snaping. We were in the car and for some reason Josh started snapping to the music and showed Wade how to snap. Wade just stared at him while he did it a few times and we were amazed when he put his little fingers together and then crossed them like he was snapping. We both just cracked up and couldn't believe it. I told Josh we have to be careful what we do and say these days because he is just picking suff up left and right.

Weekend Trip

We had a great time this past weekend. Wade and I headed down to the lake Friday. We stopped by the zoo since it was on the way. Josh headed to the lake Friday night and was trying to get there in time to see Wade before bed but he somehow got a rip/tear in his tire and got a flat tire. Of course he was on hwy 85 which is so busy. Luckily he was able to get to an exit ramp where he was safe. 3 hours later he made it to the lake. Zach and his uncle's went to help him because Josh's jack did not work so luckily between the 4 of them they got the tire changed finally! I was so glad he made it home safely.

My big boy walking at the lake

Saturday we got up and mom and I went with Ashley for her dress fitting! It is so pretty and we had a great time going and getting breakfast together. We got back to the lake so I could play with Wade for a little while before Josh and I left. While I was gone Wade figured out he could cut grass with Pops and he had a blast doing that. I am so glad Josh remembered to take pictures for me. Once I got Wade's lunch ready we decided to leave while he was eating because we knew he was happy sitting there eating. I did really good and did not get too sad. I was a little nervous but excited to get away at the same time.
Loving cutting the grass with Pops

Josh and I  headed to IKEA once we left and we loved it. We did not buy much but it was such a neat store. We even had lunch in the cafeteria! After that we headed to our hotel to get checked in at the Omni which was so nice. Everything is walking distance- shops, restaurants and bars. We put our stuff up and walked around a little bit and stopped and got dessert. After eating we headed back and did something we never do... we got in bed and watched Bride Wars (it was on HBO.) We relaxed for about 2 1/2 hours and then got up and got ready for dinner around 8pm. We never eat that late but it was so nice not to be on a time schedule. We went to BlueFinn and it was soooo good. We can't wait to go back. Josh was in love because we sat in the bar area (because they were so busy with so many bachelorette parties) and there was a tv at our table that had the ball game on! He did good and still talked to me even while watching the game. After dinner we were so full that we headed back to the hotel to relax and re-group. We almost decided not to go out after laying down again but around 10:30pm we headed to Wisky River (Dale Jr.'s Bar) and we had a blast. We even danced a little but had the most fun watching everyone! We didn't get home until 1am which is so late for us. Of course I could not sleep in past 8am but it was nice to lay in bed until 10am. Our hotel had a breakfast buffet included in our package and it was amazing! We ate way too much. We had so much fun together and headed home around 11am.

Our great night out- Getting ready to go to dinner!

Since we did not have Wade we headed to Winston to see the babies; they came home last Thursday. Oh how sweet were they. I could have just eaten them up! We stayed for lunch and saw Josh's parents as well and then headed back to get Wade. He was sleeping but when he got up he was excited to see us. We all played for a little bit and then headed to see Ashley's new house- we had not gotten to see the inside yet and it was really cute. We are so happy for them. We missed our little guy but really enjoyed our time alone together. We can't wait for our next adventure!!!!! (Mexico)
