Our big girl!!

One year ago we had a sweet little newborn baby. It seems like it was just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital and trying to figure out life with 2 little one's. We are so thankful that God choose us to be her parents. I never knew how much fun a little girl would be. I always thought we would have two boys. I am still not sure how I have a one year old "toddler" but I am so excited to watch her grow and change.

She is funny, loud, silly, happy, crazy, busy and even a tad bit dramatic!! She is still the happiest child I have ever been around. I had someone just today tell me that they have never seen her cry ever. It amazes me that even though she has never been a great night sleeper she has NEVER been fussy or irritable during the day. God really blessed us with a sweet sweet girl. Today she is a little more dramatic and just this week if you tell her "no" she will fake whine/cry.  It is cracking me up! Today she was feeding Charlie off her high chair and I said "no no Westin Kate" and right away the drama started. I just laughed at her crazy self. Besides that this child smiles 99.9% of the time.

She LOVES her big brother and in fact his name is about the only word she says except for "hey." She can say Dada but she yells for Wade all the time. It sounds like "Ade!" Poor thing I think she hears us yelling his name so much that she can't help but say it. Even today on the playground she couldn't find him and she started saying it. She has still only said "Mmm" or "Mama" once or twice. She hardly ever says the "mmm" sound. She babbles ALL day long and it is so funny and sounds Chinese.

She loves music and singing. So much more than Wade ever did. If we sing to her she will start "signing" and clapping her hands. Her favorite songs are "Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and ABC's" Most of the time you can even find her waving her arm around in the air when the music comes on!! She is also a little social butterfly and loves to wave and say "hey" to everyone. Not to mention she is as nosy as they come. We have a hard time getting her to eat when we go out because she is so busy paying attention to everyone else!

She loves for you to read (short) books to her. Her two favorites are "Baby's Day" and "Goodnight Moon" she also loves books about animals. She is really not into TV at all. So different than her brother. I used to put Wade in his little chair and let him eat and watch tv and she has no interest. She will occasionally watch a movie in the car if we have the DVD player on. I guess with her being the 2nd one we don't have as much time at home watching tv.

She is starting to get into that separation stage at church. We have not tried the gym yet because of flu season but the past two Sundays she has cried when we dropped her off. Sometimes she would get fussy by the end of the service because she is tired and ready for her nap but now she watches us leave and starts crying right away. I just hate it but I know that it is hopefully just a stage!! Wade did it from the beginning so I can't complain to much about her just starting now.

She LOVES to climb and play outside. She loves the park and loves sliding and climbing. It will be so nice when she can walk so I don't have to worry as much with her crawling around on the playground. Speaking of walking I don't think we are quite there yet. She cruises all around the furniture holding on with only one hand. She can stand alone but she has not taken any steps yet. She is getting better at walking while pushing things. She doesn't love to sit in her stroller for long periods of time but loves her new bike. She is as happy as can be when we walk and let her ride her bike.

She loves to play in the playroom with her toys but usually you can find her trying to sneak into the bathroom or her room. She loves to sneak off and find something to get in trouble with. She loves to crawl over to the railings on the steps and yell down to anyone who will listen. Bath time is still a favorite and she has started splashing and kicking her legs and laughing.  Playing ball with Wade is one of her new favorite things. She is actually even catching the ball at times. She loves it so much!!

Westin Kate these are just a few things you are into and a few of you favorite things at one year old. So happy you are our sweet girl! We love you!!
