Lake Trip/Mother's Day
Well once again I am way behind on posting. We have been so busy (but a good busy.) Two weekends ago we traveled to the lake for the first time with WK. It was actually our first time traveling with her-I can't believe we stayed home for 3 months!! My mom and the kids and I left on Friday around 4pm and headed to Thomasville to see my Grandparents and dad's side of the family. Their house is only about 15 min away from the lake and almost all of my dad's family lives on one street so when you go you get to see everyone. It is really nice to only make one stop and see the most of the family; especially when traveling with little one's. Wade loves it because they all have big yards and he can run and play. My grandma and aunt both have little dogs and Wade ran and chased those dogs and played for 2 hours. He was in heaven!! I was so happy that WK got to meet everyone and see my grandma again.
WK did great in the car and only got fussy the last 10 minutes of the trip when she got hungry. She is such a angel baby; I just can't get over how easy she is. She is just so fun to be around!! We got down to the lake around 8pm and Wade was SO excited. He loves it there and kept saying " we don't have to go back home today... right Daddy?" We love it too...once we got there Friday we did not get back into our car until Sunday when we left. We take the boat everywhere and just enjoy being lazy. We spent the day Saturday taking the boat to the Marina for lunch, taking naps, and then taking the boat back out again for dinner. We ate at this cute little seafood restaurant across the street from the Marina. Westin Kate loved the boat (it put her right to sleep) and she rode the golf cart for the first time.
Wade of course went to bed late every night (he always stays up late at the lake.) WK is a wonderful sleeper and she slept from 9pm-5am both nights then ate and went back to sleep until 9am. My mom (who never just laid us down awake) was shocked each night because around 9pm we would just lay her down and she puts herself to sleep and never makes a sound. She is just precious. Wade took much longer to put himself to sleep when he was little-we had quite a few nights of crying it out with him!!
Mother's Day was Sunday and WK and I slept in until 9am. We played at the lake that morning and then packed up to head home. Wade was not happy about leaving but he was SO happy when we told him we were going to see Nana, Poppy and Peyton. We went to Josh's Mamaw/Papaw's house for lunch and it was so nice. WK got to meet everyone for the first time and all the kids had so much fun playing. They have lots of land and cows and horse's across the street. Wade had a blast playing with his cousins and seeing the animals. We also got to go see Josh's other Mamaw who has moved into an assisted living place. I am so glad she got to meet WK too. We didn't stay long there because the kids were so loud-you can't help it when you have five kids all 4 and under in a smaller room!! I think she enjoyed watching them run around. We went back to Josh's parents for just a little bit before heading home. We had a great weekend away and got to see so many people. Of course I forgot how much you have to pack for a newborn and when we got home our house looked like a tornado had gone through it. It was a great Mother's Day and I am so glad we got to see both of our moms too!! I took WAY too many pictures and will do a picture post soon.

Picture Post
Last Saturday we took the kids (that still sounds strange) to Downtown Apex's Peak Fest. I have been going for so many years and it is something I always look forward to. They have so many cute booths and great food. Since we are doing our diet I only had a snow cone but it was a great one. All the fried food looked so good!! I bought WK some hair bows of course and a really cute ribbon type thing that attaches to strollers and high chairs so she cant throw her sippy cup or snack bowl down. It was so hot so we didn't stay too long but we had a great time.

3 months old
How is it already time for this post. WK is three months old today. I just can't believe it. She is so sweet and oh so chubby these days. We just love her so much and have enjoyed watching her change and grow. Josh says that this month has been so much better (she loves him now!!) She rarely cries and is just so precious. Her reflux medication is working great-she still spits a lot but seems to be so much more comfortable. She is starting to get a little bit nosy and loves to watch people. Here is what she is up to:

You are the sweetest little thing. We have loved having you in our family for the past three months. If I had a dollar for every person that has told us you look like a sweet baby doll I would be rich. You always wear a handband with a bow because you still don't have much hair. You have the best little personality and your brother loves you so much. He always wants to hug or kiss you. We are so thankful for you and want time to slow down. You are getting to be such a big girl. We don't want you to grow so fast but we are looking foward to watching you change. We love you.
Mommy and Daddy
- weighs around 12lbs
- wears size 1 diapers-we are moving to 2's soon
- wearing size 3 months clothes- can wear some 0-3 still and some 3-6mo
- is so chubby and has the cutest chubby cheeks
- eats every 2-3 hour during the day- eats 4oz if we give her a bottle
- sleeps wonderfully- usually eats around 9pm and doesn't wake up until almost 5am then goes back to sleeps until 830am. She always has a 6-8hr stretch and it is so nice
- naps a lot during the day- takes a nap after every feeding and usually the afternoon nap is the longest
- has found her sweet hands and they are always trying to get in her mouth
- has been trying hard to suck her thumb but we still are pushing the paci
- loves people and smiles so big when we talk or sing to her
- loves her crib and her basinette
- loves the jogging stroller and will just look around when we go for our walks
- saw Charlie for the first time and she smiled so much at him
- loves to be outside
- is trying so hard to roll over (way too early!!)-she gets all the way on her side but doesn't keep going
- has had her first cold this past week and is just pitiful
- does great in the car seat these days- very rarely cries unless you stay stopped for too long
- smiled so big when I flicked Josh one day last week
- rubbed her little eyes for the first time this week
She was looking so hard at her chair that she fell over. Wade came in during our photo shoot and wanted to give "sissy" a big hug-I am so thankful that he loves her so much. He will always tell her "I love you" or "you are wonderful sissy" He has even told her how "cute" or "pretty" she looks. I hope he will always be this sweet to her. I know they will fight but I am hoping they will always stay close. I always wanted a older brother and I hope he will always take care of her!!!

First cold
Well Westin Kate still has her first cold-I hate when they are sick and so little. She and Wade actually both have been sick this week. He felt really bad Monday and Tuesday but is much better now. He has been taking 3 hour naps this week so I know he hasn't felt great. WK has been acting fine-she hasn't been fussy or running a fever but has just had this bad eye drainage, stuffy nose and a cough. Hers is lasting much longer. I finally took her in yesterday because it has lasted a week now but thankfully they think it is just viral-I hated to put her on abx and make her tummy hurt. Hopefully it will go away soon.
We haven't been doing too much this week. We went to Zach's softball game last night and both kids had a great time. Tonight we had dinner at home and then we went and got Ice's. It is already SO hot here and has been miserable getting them in and out of the car-they both sweat like Josh :) I love this picture from last weekend- WK wasn't really feeling the big bow on our girls shopping day. She did GREAT at the outlets last weekend but was a little fussy at dinner. She met sweet Levi for the first time and I got to see some great girlfriends.
I love this picture because WK loves Wade and food so she is looking at her two favorite things!! She can be crying and he starts talking to her and she will just smile so big, it is so sweet.
Tomorrow is Peak Fest in downtown Apex and it is always so much fun. They have lots of food, things for kids to do, and craft/cute booth's with all kinds of cute things for sale. It is dangerous this year because there is always such cute stuff for girls (like hair bows.) So we are going to that and then I have to work. The pool also opens this weekend and Wade is so excited.
This chubby sweet girl has found her hands and they are staying in her mouth. She is trying so hard to find her thumb. I keep putting that paci right back in :) Wade did this too when he was close to this age. She is still such an easy baby. She loves her bassinet- and will just lay down and smile/look around for 15-20 min before she falls asleep. It is so great-we lay her down around 9pm usually and she does great. Some nights she wakes up at 11ish to eat and some nights she will just sleep from 9pm until close to 5am. I don't wake her anymore for the dream feed because she doesn't sleep any longer if I do.

We had music time, did some crafts, and had a nice lunch together. They made us the cutest stuff!! Did I mention how much I love his school. The third picture is of Wade and his "girlfriend" Emory. He just loves her. He tells us he has three, "Peyton, Emory and Katelyn!!"

And because I just love this sweet face so much...3 is such a hard age but such a sweet age too. He can be so bad and then 5 min later he will say "I'm so sorry Mommy for doing..." Or my favorite this week was "I don't like Daddy anymore (and he yells anymore)" and then the next morning he was so sad that Josh was at work and Wade says "I am just going to sit on the steps and think about Daddy!!" One minute he is mad at us and the next he is just full of love. Thankfully he always loves his sister.
