Christmas Fun continued...

Last night I got very brave and took the kids to get their Christmas pictures all by myself. The only time they had was 5pm so I took it and Josh met me there when he got off work around 540pm. Thankfully he got there in time to help me choose. Wade did GREAT; he has actually never been so good for me. He took pictures great and then sat perfectly still and quiet in a chair and helped me pick his favorites. Now if you are a mom to a 3.5yr old boy you know the words sit, still and quiet are not usually in the picture. I was SO proud of him. I also did a few of WK for her 9 month pictures. Technically she was 10 months but I did her 6 month pictures at 7 months so it ended up being 3 months after her last ones.  After pictures we grabbed dinner and then headed to the mall to see Santa. We did this exact same thing last year and it is so nice because they are already all dressed up and the wait usually isn't too long for Santa during the week. There were only 3 people in front of us so it worked well.

Wade was so excited to give Santa his very first Christmas list. He was so cute showing it to him. He was a little "sad" at first because he wanted his special treat, a cookie, first. We had to "discuss" this with him and tell him if he wanted a cookie he had to see Santa first. So he got over it and went and sat with Santa and then picked out a very special M&M cookie!! It was a lot to fit in one night but the kids were so good. Tonight is date night for Josh and I. We are going to the Christmas play at our church. It is so good every year and I am so excited to see it this year.

I just love these of his little sad and pouty face...I guess he thought if he acted pitiful we would change our minds and get him the cookie first! Little sister was full of smiles as always!!

Christmas Fun part 1...

Well its time for another catch up post :) Oh life with two small kids and one that doesn't love to sleep at night sure does keep me busy! I will say WK gave me a 10 month present-yesterday she turned 10 months old and she slept through the night for the first time EVER. She has done a 6 hour stretch before but last night was the first time she didn't eat after 8pm. Of course I kept waking up...I guess after not sleeping for 10 months my body is not used to it. The night before last she pretty much cried off and on between 2-4pm after being fed at midnight. I think she was just so tired last night she didn't even wake up! I am sure it won't happen again for a long time but I would love it if it does.

We have been keeping busy this December. We went to the Christmas tree lighting in downtown Apex the first Friday of the month and then that Saturday was the Apex Christmas parade. I had to work so Josh took the kids and they had a great time. Wade loved it and he said WK sat perfectly still and loved watching everything. We got our tree's decorated last week. Wade loved doing "his" tree in the playroom but did not want to help with our main tree in the living room. Of course the reason why is..."its a girly tree!" All of our ornaments for that tree are pink, green, purple and teal and he does not like that one!! Neither one of them have messed with the tree so that has been so nice. Wade has never really tried to mess with the ornaments and surprisingly WK hasn't either. Now that she is crawling/pulling up I thought she would try but so far so good.  Here are a few pictures of WK in her little Christmas tutu  and one of Wade being silly before we went to the Christmas tree lighting.

Had to strap them down so I could clean out my car before we went!!

All ready to see the tree lighting!!

Here are a couple from the parade. We had such nice weather that day. Last year it was freezing cold. Papaw died the night before the parade last year...I can't even believe he has already been gone a year. We still miss him so much! The last picture is of Wade, one of his best buddies Chase and Chase's sister Chloe.

This week has been crazy and we have had something every night except for Tuesday. We had our bible study Christmas party on Monday and on Wednesday we met Claire and her family at Pullen Park for their Holiday Express Night. We had a lot of fun but I wish we could have gotten there earlier because it was so busy at 5pm when we got there. The kids loved it though. We spent most of our time waiting for our dinner so I think if we go next year we will just bring more snacks and eat afterwards. One of Wade's favorite parts was riding the trolley over to Pullen Park-he loved the train ride too!

Wade and WK decorating their tree in the playroom. Wade did not want his picture taken so this was the best we could do!! I love the one of the three of them reading before bed.

One afternoon I was wrapping presents while they napped. Well when they got up they thought it would be fun to play with the ribbon. I got my entire downstairs cleaned while they did this. They had so much fun! Wade has been into wearing his cowboy hat lately and doing his "laso" with his rope. It is so funny because he will laso his little animals. I have got to get him on video doing this.

Thankful

Today I am thankful that Westin Kate's surgery is over and it went well. I was dreading it and it went SO well. I woke her up last night at 1150pm (she couldn't eat after MN) and fed her a bottle of mostly formula-hoping it would last longer!! I also gave her her first dose of benadryl to try to see it it would help her sleep. Well it worked like magic and we had to wake her at 545am to leave. If you know my child you know this is RARE. Normally should would have been up between 3-4am after eating at midnight. She was hungry when she woke up and wanted to eat but once we got into the car she got distracted and did great. She did not cry one time at the surgery center while we were waiting. Everyone kept telling us how "happy" and "good" she was and we were so thankful. I was thinking it was going to be a night mare. The surgery center was wonderful and everything was quick and on time. We got there at 6am and she went back as scheduled at 715am. Surgery only lasted 10-15 minutes and then we got to go back and see her.

She was crying when we went back but quickly settled down when I gave her a bottle. You could tell she was confused and not feeling great from anesthesia. She would cry off and on and cried for about 5 minutes in the car until she went to sleep. Wade did the exact same thing :) Thankfully she is still sleeping now an hour and a half later. Zach has Wade-I am so happy about this!!! I sneezed loud today and she cried...I forgot Wade was sensitive to loud noises at first too. I think when you always have fluid in your ear you tend to hear a little muffled so this is new to her. I completely forgot to ask her doctor if her ears were infected so I may call them today. One surgery down and one procedure to go. It is so nice to have this done before the Holiday's. I am so glad we changed our minds and went ahead with it. Here are some pictures of WK today. My mom came by to see her this morning but left right before they took her back. She started crying and didn't want to watch them take her back. I cried with Wade but this time I did ok. It really helped that the nurse took her and carried her back. With Wade they took him back on the big stretcher. Later mom called and reminded me that today is the day that my Grandma and Uncle both died. It was quite a few years ago but my Grandma died during surgery so mom said "Don't ever schedule another surgery on this day again" :) She was kidding but I didn't even think about it before hand.

Thanksgiving pictures

Here are our pictures from Thanksgiving. The first few are of us at my Aunt's house and the rest are from our weekend in Winston!!

Sweet cousins!!

Sunday after naps we went and picked out our tree. We still  have not decorated it yet but things have been busy this week so we are planning on doing that tonight!!
