It is crazy to me that we left for Disney one month ago today. It is also crazy that I have not blogged since then. Things have been so busy around here lately. I have to go back and write down Wade's reaction to us going to Disney. We decided to tell him the day before we left. We waited until after nap time and we took him in the playroom to surprise him. WK was playing with toys and we sat him on the couch and gave him his Mickey book bag. In his book bag we put all types of Disney stuff and stuff to read or play with on the plane. We also packed some sunglasses, a mickey shirt and a couple of snacks. He opened everything and then we asked him where he thought we were going. When he finally guessed we told him that it was just the three of us going and that we were leaving sister at home with Mimi and Pops. To say the least he was not excited about leaving sister. He put his little head down and almost looked like he was going to cry. When we asked him how excited he was about Disney he looked up at us and held up his hand and made a zero with his little hand. He told us he was "zero excited!" It was so sweet and such a priceless video and I can't wait to show it to them when they are fighting one day and cant stand each other.
Fast forward to the next day we were on the airplane and ready to leave. Wade loved the airport and the plane ride. He was such a big boy and SO good the entire time. I think we had one "fit" one morning because he was exhausted and didn't want to wear what I packed for him. We kept him up late every night and woke him up early every morning. One night we even stayed out until 11pm and Wade was such a champ. We stayed until the park closed-it was our last night and we had a blast. We spent two days in Magic Kingdom, one day at Hollywood Studios, and half a day at Animal Kingdom. When you ask Wade what his favorite part of the entire trip is he says, "swimming in the pool." We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and it was great. Wade of course loved the pool the best. He also loved our dinner and breakfast with the characters and both of the Buzz rides. We sure did miss Westin Kate but I am so thankful that we left her. She would have been miserable and it was so much fun to go to the shows and ride all the rides together. Wade rode everything and was so brave. We did Splash Mountain three times and the big railroad roller coaster twice. It was busy but thankfully the lines were not bad at all. The longest we waited in line was 30 minutes and that was to meet Buzz and Woody. I love the character meals because they walk around to each table and it saves so much time because you don't have to wait in line to meet them!!
We had the best weather and I was so thankful that it didn't rain. Those were the two things we were praying for.....Good weather and that no one got sick. Thankfully we all stayed well too. It was in the low 80's and sunny every day. Wade missed his sister but one day while we were there he said..."next time we come we should leave sister at home again!" Ha- I think he realized it was nice having all the attention. The food was fantastic and we ate WAY too much. I loved doing the dinning plan. It was so easy and so worth the money. We were worried that Wade was a little young at first but he was at a great age. Everything was so magical. Of course our little smarty pants was trying to figure out why the characters didn't talk to him. I told him they didn't talk and he says "yes they do mom, Mickey talks!!" We loved all the parade's and Ohana's was our favorite place to eat. Oh Wade's other favorite rides were Star Tours and the Honey I shrunk the kids playground. He also loved the River Rapids at Animal Kingdom and Dino Land. We can't wait to go back one day-maybe sooner than later!! I just heard that they are doing free dinning soon. I am going to do a entire post of pictures. I of course have a ton!! We were all exhausted by the end of the 5 days but I feel like we got to do and see everything that we wanted too. It is such a great place!
