It's almost here!!

I am so excited for Christmas this year. Last year Wade was really fun but he understands so much more this year and boy can he open a present quickly!! If you ask him about Santa coming he will tell you he is going to bring him a "present" or a "surprise" I don't think he really gets the Santa thing but he is excited about his surprise. However Josh is not excited about about putting his 1,000 piece kitchen set together. We really need to start that tomorrow night. As much as I love the idea of Santa and leaving some presents unwrapped for Wade each year I really hope Wade will understand the real meaning of Christmas. We talk about it and he is so cute and when he sees a manger scene he will point and say "baby Jesus" and he will talk about the Angel and Mary. Last year we started a tradition of reading the Christmas Story together on Christmas Eve and making sure we talk about Jesus's Birthday. I would love to hear everyone else's ideas for "keeping the real meaning of Christmas alive."

This year we are starting a new tradition with my parents and Ashley and Zach. We have always done Christmas with them on Christmas morning but now that we are both married and especially since we have Wade we have changed it a little. So we are now doing "Christmas" with my side of the family on Christmas Eve. I am so excited about this new tradition. Then Josh, Wade and I will have our own family time Christmas morning. They will all come over to have breakfast and to see what Wade got on Christmas morning. However we will always keep our tradition of going to look at Christmas lights with my family on Christmas Eve. We have done this every year since we were born. I just don't know how we are all going to fit in one car this year? Once we have another baby and Ashley and Zach have kids we will have to follow each other to look at lights. My favorite part used to be "looking for Santa and Rudolf's nose" Its amazing that I thought the red light from an airplane was really Santa!!" I think Christmas traditions are something I remember the most. I can't wait to make start new traditions with our little family.
