July 4th, 2012

We had a great July 4th this year. It was strange having it in the middle of the week but it worked great for us because Josh got home from his trip Tuesday afternoon and then was home all day Wednesday. Wednesday morning we went to downtown Apex to walk around and let Wade play. Downtown Apex always has great things for the kids especially on the Holiday's. They closed the street and had all types of bouncy houses and slides. Wade's favorite part was the big sling shot that shot water balloons at people. He loved playing that with Josh. I got some picture of that but they are on Josh's phone so I will have to upload them soon!!

We didn't stay too long because it was already so hot. We went out to eat lunch then came home for naps before going to a cookout. We went over to our friends house for a cookout and had a great time. Wade was so well behaved and we were so proud of him. It helped that we told him he could stay up late and watch fireworks if he was good. Sometimes a little bribe works wonders!! We watched fire works at my friends parents house. They live near the golf course so we walked down to the golf course to watch them. It was great for small kids because it was far enough away that it wasn't loud but they could still see them. They both loved them. Jenna's mom held WK and she did great and even fell asleep on her shoulder. The kids were so tired from staying up late but we all had a great time. It was so nice having Josh home all day on a week day.

Playing catch up...

Just when I get caught up on blogging a few days go by and I get behind again. Tomorrow I will hopefully get caught up during nap time! I need to blog about July 4th, Westin Kate's 5 month post, and our Lake trip. These weeks are just flying by so fast. I told Josh tonight that I was sad that they are growing up so fast...his response was "let's have another one!!" (he was just kidding!!) I found her newborn hat when I was unpacking her clothes in her closet and it made me so sad :( I think that you would always feel this way with your last baby- no matter how many you have. Because she is our last I always think "this is the last time..." I told Josh we are going to blink our eyes again and she is going to be Wade's age and he will be six. I am excited to watch them grow but I just wish it didn't happen so fast.

It's funny because just last week I had then both out somewhere and someone said "you have your hands full" and he kind of said it negatively like he was glad it was me and not him. I just smiled but thought that it was sad that a lot of parents look at it like that. Sure we are busy with two little ones but honestly Josh and I love this crazy/busy stage we are in. It is so fun to us!!

Wade talked ALL weekend. I mean ALL the time. He had so much energy and talked about anything and everything. He is really into things like "is daddy taller than Zach?" or is "Pops bigger than Mimi?" He is comparing everything. He also says now "I am the funniest child!!" He just loves that we all think he is so funny.

Something he said last week has been cracking us up; at the pool last week he asks my sister, "Ashwee why do you have hair under your arms like daddy and Zach?" I was out feeding WK so I didn't hear him but he only has two tones...loud and extra loud so Ashley was mortified.

This Week!

I am officially tired and its only Tuesday!! Josh left Sunday morning and I am so thankful he is coming back today. It makes for a long day when you have both kids by yourself. Much to my surprise Wade has been my easy one the past three days. WK is teething and has been really fussy (mostly at night when I am trying to get her to sleep!!) She had a little bit of a fever last night and some really bad diapers...I am so ready for those two little teeth to pop through; they are so close!!

We haven't been doing too much since Josh left. It has been too hot for us to be outside. I can't believe it has been 100-106 degrees this past week. Its funny because one morning it was only 78-80 when I first went out and it almost felt cool like you would need a jacket. We were planning on going to the lake tonight but we have decided to wait and just go for the weekend. I may go up early Thursday with mom. Wade is SO excited to see Josh and actually wanted to take his nap today because Josh will be home when he wakes up. The picture below is Wade making daddy a welcome home sign!! (and yes he told me he was cold this morning and got his jacket-it was 77 degrees upstairs!) I am so thankful tomorrow is the 4th so Josh is home. It will be a nice treat. We don't have any plans for tomorrow but I am sure we will try to see some fireworks. I have no idea what I am going to do with WK because she cries when she hears loud noises!!

Oh this post baby weight (this is completely random by the way.) I am going to blog about my weight loss so hopefully it will help me get it all off. I LOVE body by vi shakes but right now with breastfeeding I can't do them the way I really want to-it cuts my calories too low and decreases my milk supply. So I am trying to do at least one a day but once I am done nursing I will bump it up to two a day. If I could cut out dinner and just do a shake it would work so much better but with nursing I am hungry at night.

I have 7 pounds left of baby weight (which doesn't sound horrible) but I have about 10-11 more that I want to get off that I never lost from Wade. My goal is by August 6th (she will be 6 months old) that I will have my baby weight off and then I can focus on the rest. Running is helping but it just doesn't seem to be coming off very fast. I want to have it all off by fall-I am trying really hard to get to the gym but it is so hard with WK because I am not ready to take her to the gym daycare yet-I don't want her exposed to all those germs yet. So I am going to update next week and hopefully I won't have 7lbs left!!

Here are some random pictures-Somebody didn't want to nap in her bed and she matched the new bed spread perfectly!!

I haven't take any pictures of her since she started sleeping in her crib. She is doing good and sleeps from about 11pm to 545-6 most nights. She goes down around 8-830 but she is still doing that 1030-11p feeding. It has been so hot here that I have let her sleep in her diaper a few times. I just love the three of her when she was waking up. She is just so sweet. I took one of Wade when he was about this age and I will have to find it and compare!!

I just love this kid. It was only 105 degrees last week when I found him like this... hat and all!! I cleaned out both of their closets and had all his winter stuff laying on the floor. I made him take the gloves and hat off but he slept in the sweat shirt??

This picture is a few months old but I wanted to make sure I put it on here. WK was sleeping at my Papaw's house (which is now my parents house!) If you knew Papaw you know that he was always on the front porch. He loved to just sit outside and relax after doing his yard work. He would sit out there most of the time. I will never forget when he told mom and I "I guess I won't get to meet this baby?" It about broke my heart because he was so excited for us. I don't know if you get to look down when you are in Heaven but if you do I bet he was just smiling away seeing her on his porch. He was so sad too that he wasn't going to get to see Wade grow up. He used to always say "that boy!!" "he is going to give his teachers a run for their money, and teach them a thing or two!" I hope he gets to see him playing every time we go over to "Papaw's house." Even though it is mom and dads now I think we will always call it his house. Maybe not because we used to call it Grandma's house a long time ago. He had no idea they were going to buy the house. He would tell them to "sell the house and split the money." He was always worried about his girls. He wanted to make sure they were going to be taken care of (even though they were in their 50's) That's why we loved him so much!!!

Wade-ism's

Three is a challenging age but the stuff that comes out of this kids mouth is hillarious. This is one of those post for me to look back on when he is older!! I found two scrap sheets of paper covered with things he had said. Some of these are old from Winter time. I found them in my planner. Warning...this is long and boring to most!!

Here is what he has been saying lately:
-Are you serious right now?

-Are you jealous? -Josh was talking to him the other day about being jealous of things and now he will ask everyone "Are you jealous, are you serious?"

-We have been talking about being his own person (as much as a 3 yr old understands)-we have had some issues with him copying bad behavior. We are trying to teach him not to "follow" what other kids are doing. Well the other day he was so sweet and says "Can I follow you Daddy?" (meaning can I copy what you do). He loves Josh so much and I am so glad he wants to be like his daddy.

- This one made us laugh so much but we then told him that he can't say it anymore. We were eating dinner out at the beach Saturday night and Poppy said something to Wade and Wade looked over at him and punched him in the arm and says "you little punk" I know my mouth fell right open and I said excuse me where did you learn that word. He tells us "Mimi let me watch Dr. Doo Little and he is talking on the phone and says that" Oh my this child remembers everything!!

-the other day at the pool he says "wow look at her big legs!" I wanted to die!!

-We went over to my parents new house the other day and the first thing he says is "my bum bum itches because my mommy didn't wipe all the stinky off!" Thankfully he just told my mom this and yes I did clean his bottom just fine-He is crazy!!

-He also told my mom "my mommy has bigger boobies than you do"

-Josh is traveling for a couple of nights this week and Wade has been asking " is daddy done with his field trip?" I have no idea how he knows the word field trip but I think he meant business trip or plane trip!! He also asked "is Pittsburg farther than the beach?"

-"I am just sitting here thinking about daddy" He said this one day when he was sitting on the steps
-"sitting here thinking waiting for the beach"

-Around Easter this past year he said "that is sad that Jesus died on the cross" "Jesus is a-lied" (alive)
-Out to dinner one night he yells- "He is a-lied so we can go to the lake!!"

-"I tink so!!"
-"I just don't know why someone would eat the last peice of chochlate cake?" (we told him it was all gone bc someone ate it all)
-"what number are you?" (he asks this when he is asking "how old are you?")
-"I am super Wade and I am super strong!"- (he was singing this one day in the playroom)
-"I have the biggest muscles"
-"you always make me laugh!"
-"don't worry mommy I'm being careful"
-"cookies...maybe that will make my tummy feel better"
-"don't say yea say yes or yes ma'm" (at least he is listening!!)

These are the old one's...some were from around Christmas/Winter time. I just found them and wanted to make sure I put them on the blog.
  • "I'm just kidding"
  • "I blessed you a lot-8 times!!" (when he sneezed a few times)
  • "are you sure momma?"
  • "maybe daddy will give you a hug?" (when I asked him for a hug one day)
  • "I am fine...don't worry about it"
  • "FINE!!" (we quickly put an end to this one)
  • "my behind scratches" (he meant itches!!!!)
  • "your bothering me mommy"
  • "I can't come to your house tonight" (he always says this when we are leaving somewhere and he has to go)
  • "see my skills"
  • "I got to negotiate"
  • "don't mess up my covers"
  • "get him out of here" (he says this when Charlie is in his room!)
  • this day, last day and next day - he always says this instead of today, yesterday and tomorrow
  • "I need some privacy"
  • "You be like Mimi and give me the whole bag of cookies"

These are some funny things he said when I was on bed rest and pregnant with WK- I was way behind one blogging this!!
  • "I'll give you a kiss then you will feel better"
  • "How you feeling?"
  • "Does WK need a life saver since she is living in water?"
  • "Why do you have all the pillows? Give Daddy some!!" (I had horrible reflux!!)
  • "Don't want to hear that noise again!" (I guess I was snoring some when I was pregnant with WK-he was laying with me one morning and told me I scared him!!)
  • "Stay on the couch"
  • One day Josh needed some medicine and Wade ran into our room and brought him some TUMS-I kept a bottle by our bed because of my reflux!!
  • I will give you a kiss and then you can walk again
When Papaw died he asked a lot of questions and said some things about Heaven!!
  • "where's Papaw?"
  • "that's sad!!"
  • "I'm going to heaven to see Papaw"
  • "I love Heaven"
  • " I am going to take a rocket to Heaven" "Papaw went to Heaven on a rocket!"

VBS

Wade went to VBS last week and he loved it. He went to bible school at his preschool and a few of his friends from his class were in there with him. It was M-F from 9-1130; we have not been used to getting up and getting ready lately. Getting out of the door by 850am is a little crazy but I have just been taking WK straight from her crib in her PJ's. She normally sleeps until 930am so it is a little early for her!! It has been so nice to run errands or go for a jog with only one child. Wade has come home excited every day-most of the time he tells me he loves snack time and dancing the best!! Here are some pictures of Wade at large group that one of the moms sent me.

One of our favorite parks opened their little splash area and we went on Tuesday. We didn't know that the water was working so we didn't have bathing suits or towels :) The kids just took their shoes off and had a blast anyways. We are supposed to go back today for play group but WK has been so fussy lately that I am not sure if we are going. The past two days she has not been her normal happy self. I can see those bottom teeth right under her gums and she is chewing on everything. I think that they are really bothering her.

We also started rice cereal this week (6/25/12). She has had it for three days now and she is doing so much better than the first day. The first time she tried it it was everywhere and I am not sure she loved it!! Yesterday was her 3rd day getting it and she did pretty good. Sometimes I am wondering if it is hurting her stomach and that is why she is fussy. It has been a big week for her-she also started sleeping in her room for the first time on Tuesday night (6/26/12). Tuesday while Wade was in school I went shopping and bought Josh and I a new bedding set. We have had our old one since we got married so it was time. I packed up the pack and play and cleaned up our room and I am so happy I did-she is almost 5 months old so it was past time. She has done pretty well sleeping. Last night she woke up at midnight and at 5am and that is not normal for her-I think those teeth are really bothering her at night too.

I love this last picture...it is like she is saying "yay" that is over. She has been eating rice cereal once a day now for almost a week and she is doing so much better with the spoon. I still can't believe she is big enough to be doing this.

Beach Weekend

Last weekend we went back to the beach and had a great time. We are so thankful that Josh's parents have such a nice place for us to go and stay. We got there late Friday night (traveling around bed time is so much easier these days!!) Saturday Josh let me sleep in and he took Wade grocery shopping and they brought breakfast home :) I don't mind cleaning up or paying bills but I HATE grocery shopping for some reason. I am so glad that Josh is so good about doing it for us. It was so nice that he went early and we had the entire day on the beach. The weather this past weekend was perfect. Our tent that we found at Walmart worked great. I have decided a tent is a must when you have a small baby-I even enjoyed getting out of the sun and sitting under it. WK took her morning naps outside in the stoller under the tent. Wade got some good time with Nana and Poppy and he was SO excited about that. He couldn't wait for them to get down on Saturday. Wade has gotten so brave in the water and has started going out and jumping waves by himself. Sunday he ran over to me and said, "I jumped the biggest wave of my wife" (life). There are some words that he says that just make me smile. He is such a big boy but it is so cute when he can't say his "L's" great. He also says "I don't like that eever!" (either) or "me eever."

Sunday we stayed all day until supper time. It makes Josh and I a little more tired but right now in this phase in our life's it just works better to leave around 7pm so both kids will sleep. The funny thing was WK stayed awake for and hour and a half of the drive. Thankfully she was happy most of the time. We gave the kids baths, ate dinner at the condo and the packed up and headed home. It is nice though that we had another full day at the beach. We spent some time at the pool Sunday and both kids loved it. WK swam and just kicked her little legs the entire time. Wade loves the pool and loved swimming with his puddle jumper. He is a little more timid in the water this summer than last summer. He was so funny; he was playing with this little boy and I told him to watch the little boy put his head under the water and swim. Well Wade looked at me and said "I am just a little too small to do that, he is probably 9 and I am only 3." After he said that the little boy's grandmother said "how did he know that?" She said he is 9 years old!! We were both amazed that he guessed that; I told her it is scary...I feel like he is smarter than I am!! I bought him some school stuff to keep him busy over the summer and one of the books is preparing for Kindergarten and he can already do half of the book. He loves doing "school" stuff and learing new things. He cannot be my child :)
