Countown Begins!

So the countdown begins. We have two days until we leave for Mexico. I am really excited to get away but sad we are leaving Wade. Hopefully I will do ok Wednesday morning when we leave. I know he is in good hands. Plus Aunt Ashley is coming into town to help as well. I can't wait to return the favor to her and Zach one day. I have only gotten teary eyed once thinking about being away from him for 5 full days. Of course he started getting sick this weekend and has a runny nose and a pretty bad cough. I am hoping the cough gets much better by Wednesday. He had a little fever today (well I didn't even check it but he felt warm) but after a dose of motrin and a nap he seems fine. The honey is really working too, now that he is over one he can have it. I just wish he didn't look so pitiful. It makes it harder to leave. He has bags under his eyes from not sleeping much at night.

He just got up from his nap and he did the funniest thing... he was pulling on the computer cord while I was typing so I told him "No No" don't do that. Well that little rascal says "No No" just as plain as day. He had been saying "Nnn" which I knew was "no" but he has mastered it today. This past weekend we were letting him watch more TV than normal because he felt so bad and just wanted to sit down and rest.  Wow Wow Wubsy came on (he has only seen this show a few times) and I hear "Wow Wow." I said what did you just say and he looks a me and then points to the TV and says "Wow Wow." He was showing me what was on TV. So now we really have to start watching what we say because he is repeating everything!!!!

I am trying to take more bath time pictures of my sweet boy. He really does have hair... it just happens that he looks bald in this picture

Me: "Wade do not drink the bath water you just peed in"

He loves to run around naked!

The Picture below is the "I just did something I am not supposed to" face. Most days I do see this sweet/innocent face at least once or twice. Usually it is after he has been playing in the bathroom, destroying his alphabet floor in his room, pulling Charlie's hair, hitting or throwing something-usually throwing food from the high chair or a ball at the TV. The list could go on and on. I am going to miss this sweet little mischievous face while we are in Mexico. I have to say I am excited to lay in a beach chair and do absolutely nothing but at the same time I am so thankful the rest of the summer will be spent chasing my wild man around at the pool! I am not a big drinker by any means but the last two trips we took out of the country I was pregnant so it will be nice this time to be able to have a margarita here and there. I am probably most excited about the food. I have been working out so hard and trying to get in shape but now I can't wait to eat some great food.  I have to say that was the best part about being pregnant on our past trips because I told my self I had an excuse to eat more. Being the frugal person that I am it always made me feel like I was getting my money's worth by eating a lot! So I am going to try to find a happy medium on this trip and try not to gain 5lbs while we are there. Can't wait to post about our trip when we get back. Hopefully Ashley will take lots of pictures of Wade while he is on his vacation to the lake.

Weekend Fun

Well I am behind on posting this week so I am going to try to get caught up while Wade naps. We had a great weekend. Friday night Josh's parents came around 4:30 to spend some time with us and Wade before we leave for Mexico. It was such a great visit and Wade had a blast. Not to mention Nana always brings something for Wade! He absolutely LOVES his gift... she brought him some toy animals and they are so cute. They are the cutest ones I have ever seen. He has not stopped playing with them since. After we played a little bit we headed to Downtown Apex to walk around the shops and to eat dinner. The weather was great it was so nice to get out and do some window shopping. Of course I forgot my camera (as always). I love downtown; it is so great. It has the small town feeling but has some really cute and trendy shops as well. There are some really great restaurants too. We had Mexican and Wade was so good and was such a good eater for us. After dinner we went to the Ice Cream Shop for a little treat. Wade was worn out by the time we left and ready for bed. Thanks Nana and Poppy for such a fun visit. We can't wait to do it again soon. Here are a couple of pictures that I took once we got home. I have got to remember to start bringing my camera more.
He looks way too big

 Playing with his animals

His balloon we got from Dollar General- he started screaming with excitement when we got into the store and he saw the balloons.

Wade's new thing is to dance... here he is doing a little dance with the Backyardagains. He actually has pretty good rhythm, I think he probably gets his dance moves from me but Josh would disagree with that!

How things change!

I love looking back at the pictures we took each month of Wade. I hate that I barely remember him being so little. What's even sadder is the fact that this time next year I will be looking back at one year old pictures thinking the same thing! I LOVE this age and wish time would slow down just a little bit. He is one of the funniest kids I have ever met and he is so active- running all over the place with the biggest smile on his sweet face. He is always looking for something to get into most days and he is so proud that he can now push all of his little push toys that just have a handle (ball popper toy, etc). He loves to "get in trouble" for pulling Charlie's hair or chasing after him. He is changing way too much these days!

10 and 12 months were by far the hardest to get a good picture; he was too busy on those days!

Jumping to Conclusions

Well I think I was wrong... I woke up yesterday with a horrible headache and my stomach just did not feel great. I had a headache Saturday as well but didn't really think much about it until now. I think Wade just did not feel great the last couple of days and that is why he was screaming when we laid him down. If his head hurt like mine did I completely understand. He had a couple of bad diapers the last few days but I just assumed it was just from food. I think we may have had a mild virus because he also had a runny nose. Nap time yesterday and bed time last night were much different and he only cried for a minute or two and went to bed. Poor guy I thought he was having all this separation anxiety at night/nap time because he has it so bad at the gym/church. Bless his sweet heart he just wanted to be held! Tonight when I put him down at 815p he made one little cry noise and went right to sleep. Thank goodness. Now if I can just keep him well for our trip. It is going to be hard enough to leave him but even worse if he is sick.  He has not even been saying "momma" half as much as he was and sadly to say I missed hearing it today. He was back to being Mr. Independent. However we tried the gym again today and the girl there is so sweet she said "well he only cried for the first 15 minutes" I know she was worn out because he was held the entire time. I just can't wait for the day I come in to pick him up and he is playing!!!!! All the other kids are playing blocks and with the toys and my sweet child just sits in their laps the entire 45 min I am gone.

13 1/2 Months

Well I was not planning on posting until Wade had his 14 month old birthday but he is doing so many new and cute things I knew I would never remember! Not to mention getting ready for our trip and packing him up to stay with my parents for 5 days is going to have me pretty busy over the next week. I can't believe we are leaving in a little over a week. I am praying Wade gets over this "momma" phase he is going through. This past week it is like we have had a different child in the house. He cries for me when I lay him down for naps and at night and he really cries for 15-20 minutes. He also says my name ALL day long. I love it so much; but if I get out of his sight I hear this sweet voice saying "momma." It makes me a little worried about leaving him but I hope he will be so busy at the lake that hopefully he will do ok. I just hope he starts going to sleep like he used to. He is sleeping all night but it is a fight to get him to sleep. Last night I was about ready to scream because he was acting so bad (screaming), so I picked him up out of his bed and was going to rock him in the living room. Well Josh tried to hold him and he went crazy saying "momma" so I took him back. So he laid his head down on my should and was looking at Josh like "well I got my way!" After a few minutes I look at him again and he just made my heart melt (and Josh's). My sweet boy was waving to Josh. I just busted out laughing. Wade was just a smiling and waving. Well he has also mastered waving the correct way. He used to do the backwards wave but now he has got it down pat and bends those sweet little fingers. He did it a few times and it was precious!!! It was like he did not want Josh to get near him or hold him but bless his heart he wanted Josh to know he still liked him and wanted to say "hi."

Here are some other things he is up to:  Last week he checked out his first set of library books! He got to bring home three books and he was so excited; he loves the library. He has started dancing and singing. When a song comes on that he likes I hear that sweet voice trying to sing/hum. He has been doing patty cake and the itsy bitsy spider by himself. He is now blowing on all his food. I keep telling him to bite and he thinks I mean blow... I keep trying to tell him "grapes are not hot buddy." He now will walk up to his high chair when he is hungry and says "yum yum." He gets so excited over the little things and has started squealing, saying wow, and whoa! He now has the deep laugh that just cracks me up. He usually does it when he is doing something he is not supposed to be! Today for the first time he pushed up to a standing position from the floor without pulling up on anything. He is pretty much running everywhere and prefers to be outside. I can't wait to start going to the pool this week. He is trying to drop his morning nap and if he sleeps well at night he does not usually take one anymore. He has been sleeping until 8am which is great and goes back down for his nap around 1230-1pm. It is so nice to have our mornings free now. Last week he took a 3 hour nap! He is getting so big and changing so much each day. I know I can't bog about everything but hope to get as much as I can. I got my blog book today and I love it!!!!!! It is such a great way to record these precious milestones. Now if I can get better about taking pictures each week. I did not take any this past week until today. I need to find a happy medium... I either take way too many or not enough.

Here is wade playing in the box that my blog book came in. It came yesterday (much faster than they said) and I could not be happier. I love it and can't wait to do more. I think I am going to do one either yearly or twice a year. The only thing I wish they would have done was spell check. I should have done it myself but I noticed I had a word spelled wrong here and there. Overall it is great!! I highly recommend it to anyone that blogs. I am so not into scrapbooking, just not my thing, so I look at blogging as a way to scrapbook our lives.

Molar's and Seperation anxiety!

I noticed last week (5/6/10) that Wade had been drooling more and sticking his hands in his mouth more. Well I decided to look in his mouth and sure enough his top left molar had just broken the skin and was popping through. I looked around and all 4 of his molars will be in soon because his gums are so swollen and you can almost feel the teeth getting ready to pop through. Well this week I know he is teething because he has not been sleeping well and he has been doing the cutest thing. He keeps sticking his little tongue in and out and I thought he was just being silly but mom informed me that it feels good to their teeth and that he is rubbing it over the molars that are soon to be coming in. He also started getting a runny nose today and I am thinking that may be from teething too. I just hope these molars get here soon so he will feel better and start sleeping better.

The runny nose may also be from church/gym daycare. We have not been to the doctor's in over a month(that is big time for us considering we were there every week or two with all of his ear infections) and of course yesterday I mentioned that he had been well for awhile now and last night he started not feeling great. However we will not be going to the doctor's for a runny nose! I knew he would pick up some stuff now that he is being left more. He has been going to church for awhile now and he cries pretty much the entire time. Last week was a little better and he played some. It just breaks my heart because now that he is saying "momma" he says it when we hand him over to the workers. I am hoping this is just his age and he will grow out of the crying and enjoy playing with the other kids??? We just started taking him to the gym this week. I wanted to make sure flu and cold season were long gone before we started there. I thought he might get used to this faster since we go almost every day. I took him every day except for today and he has not done great. They have not had to come find me yet but he does cry off and on most of the time. I am only leaving him for 30-40 minutes until he gets used to it. Has anyone else had issues around this age??? So we will try again tomorrow and Saturday.

I have to get him used to being dropped off by Septemeber. I am so excited that he got into a Mother's Morning Out  program at a wonderful church literally one mile from our house. He will go every Monday from 9am-1145am. Mondays work out well because I can sleep if I need to after working Sunday evenings but I am sure I will be cleaning, grocery shopping or going to the gym instead. I almost had him enrolled in another program before I knew about this one but I am so thankful he got into the one in Apex because the other one was 15 min away so I would have spent most of my time driving. Most days we will probably walk there so Charlie can get his walk in as well. I love it because there are only 8 kids in his class and 2 teachers. He will be almost 18 months old and the age of the class is 12-24 months. I can't wait to take his first "school day" picture with him and his little book bag!!

Wade's Dedication

I have been meaning to post about Wade's baby dedication that we had at church last Saturday. Wade did really well and we had a great time. It was so different than other dedication's I have been to. Growing up at my old church your family would go up to the alter after the service and the preacher would ask you a few questions and the pray for the family and give your child a bible. Hope is such a big church that they have a couple of dates for dedication services throughout the year. There were probably 15 or so families dedicating their children. We were asked to invite family and they had all the families sit at big tables. They served cake first while everyone talked and then one of our pastor's talked and had us do a little table discussion. (we had some homework questions that we shared with our family) After that he prayed for all of the families they did a slide show with all of the kids pictures. It was so cute. Then we all headed up front and were presented with a bible for Wade and a book for Josh and I to read. It lasted about 45 minutes and was really nice. They did it Saturday afternoon right before the first Saturday service so we all stayed for church. Luckily Wade did better in nursery and really only cried the last 10 minutes or so. He actually played this time. Hopefully we are making some progress. Here are some pictures from his dedication.

After church we all headed back to our house for a cookout. The weather was great and we had a great time. Thanks to both of our families for such a fun time and for bringing such great food to share. We even had some friends from Florida stop by. (they are interested in Raleigh and came down to see the area). It was a great day!

Random pictures

Now that I know about turning blog's into books I feel like I will be posting more and posting more pictures. It is so much easier than making a shutterfly book because the website does everything for you. You just plug in your blog's web address and it's done. Now the pictures are not as big as the one's in the shutterfly photo book but hopefully I will love it anyways. Here are some random pictures that I have taken this month.

This is wade's 1st boo boo since he started walking. He bumped his head many times while crawling/pulling up but this time he was looking up at the airplane and lost his balance and fell on the pavement. He hit the right side of his cheek and it broke the skin in three little places. It's hard to see, it just looks red in the picture. He of course cried for a few minutes and would not let me hold and ice pack on it so it did swell a little but not too bad. I know this is one of many to come.
This is what wade likes to do when Mommy is not looking... playing in the water bowl and now he has started throwing dog food all over the floor.

Caught red handed!!

This is time out... he was put here a couple of times that day but this time was because he was pulling Charlie's hair and his legs and laughing about it. He only sits there 30 seconds to one minute and I am not sure if it helps but we are going to keep trying it. I was popping his hand but then he started hitting and laughing so I have stopped that for the time being.

Helping daddy get the yard ready for our cookout

He loves to sit and play with the ADT sign???

My blue eyed boy
Pretending he is Charlie!
I know its a long shot but I am still hoping his hair is going to curl like Josh's.... he has two pieces behind his ears that are starting to curl up. I am not sure if it's because it is getting long or if it really will curl. I guess we will have to wait and see. You can see that one little piece in the picture that is curling out!

Happy Mother's Day!

It's hard to believe that today was my second Mother's day. I have to say it was just as great as my first Mother's Day. Thanks to my great husband for making the day so special and letting me pick how we spent our day.  I served in the nursery at church today for both services and Josh served during the second one. Wade did great in the walker room today mainly because that was the room Josh was serving in!! On a good note he did better last night we went left him during service. After church we went to mom's and had lunch with them and Ashley and Zach. We had a great lunch! We headed home for nap time and all three of us took a nap. It was the best thing ever. We all slept 2 hours. We took Wade to mom and dad's after our nap and Josh and I went for a jog at the Reservoir. It was so much cooler today and a great day for a jog. We ate some leftover's for dinner with my parents and Wade played outside and then we headed home to put Wade to bed. I could not have asked for a better day. Oh and my mother's day present.... getting this blog printed into a book. The website www.blog2print.com will turn your blog into a book. I can't wait to get it!!!!! I am so thankful I started this blog and now I have so many great memories from his first year of life. I am so thankful for my sweet family and I love being a Mommy.

This was Mother's Day last year (2009)- One month old

Mother's Day 2010 (13 months old)
Wade,
Thank you for being the sweetest little angel. Today was the best Mother's day I could have asked for. You slept until 745am.  Daddy brought you into our room to cuddle this morning you just smiled so big and layed with me for about 10-15 minutes. You put your sweet little head down on my chest and gave me a big hug and I could have just eaten you up. When Daddy brought you into our room you started saying "Momma" when you saw me and that was the best present I could have asked for.  I love our special time together in the mornings when you are so cuddly. That is the only time of the day you will lay still with mommy. I am so thankful God gave you to us and being your mom has been so much fun. I love your sweet and silly personality and your big smile and cute dimples. I love that you are so busy and smart and that you do something funny every day to make me laugh. I have the best job in the entire world... staying home and taking care of you. Thank you for being the best little boy in the whole world. I love being your mommy.
Love, Momma

Show us Your Life- Baby Names

I usually don't participate in Kelly's Korner "Show us your life" Friday's but I love baby names so I though this week I would participate a few days late. This week is show us your baby names or future baby names. Growing up my sister and I always talked about what we would name our children and I can't remember many of the names I used to like except Hudson. I always thought I would name a boy Hudson if I had one. Well Josh and I both liked the name a lot but it has gotten so popular in the last few years so we decided not to use it. We almost used it for Wade's middle name but liked the way Harrison sounded better.

So how did we come up with Wade.... the funny thing is neither one of us can remember the exact night we decided. We looked at family names and really didn't have one that we loved. I really wanted to use one of our grandparents names but let me explain why we did not... Melba, Arnetta, Claudine, Alice, Farrell, Sarlie, Herbert, and Earl! Bless their hearts I love every one of the them but I did  not love their names for our child.  I love Farrell for a girl but Farrell Foltz just doesn't do it for me. My grandad Earl's real name is Aubrey Earl so if we ever have a little girl Aubrey may be a contestant. He is a great man. My Maternal grandmother's maiden name is Flemming and I liked that for a boy but once again Flemming Foltz would have gotten made fun of at school!!

So long story short we loved Wade... just a random name we liked. Simple, different, cute, but not off the wall. We knew there would most likely not be another Wade in his class. We also really loved Josh's middle name but we both wanted to use Wade as a first name and did not love Wade Nolan. So maybe if we have another boy we will use Nolan as a middle name? Harrison was a name the girls at work mentioned and I really liked it so I went home and asked Josh about it and he loved it. I was leaning towards Wade Hudson but after much discussion we picked Harrison and it fits him great. (Josh always said his name sounded athletic and that was important to him) I love his name and I am so happy we went with it. Wade Harrison we hope you grow up to love your name as much as we do!

Now for future children we may never decide on a name. We don't have the exact same taste. I like different names and Josh likes just a few names. For boys he likes Luke, Max, now his new favorite is Axton (me not so much). I love Luke but WAY too common for me. For girls he likes: He does not really like girl names because he wants another boy. He likes London (actually one of my fav's too), Eva, and Rivers, and thats it. Now if I liked Rivers it would be great because it is my maternal grandmother's maiden name and she was an amazing lady. It just doesn't do much for me.  For boys I love: Weston, Walker, Bennett, Colson, I know there are others but boy names are harder for me. For girls I love:  Miller (my favorite), Landry, Adalyn Kate, Aubrey Claire, Halle, London, Rowan, Eden Kate or any double name! I love using a double name for a little girl if we had one but I am not sure what I would put with Miller!!!!

Lake- Part 2

Here are the rest of the pictures from our weekend. Wade loved playing in the water so much that we got his little pool out on Sunday after his nap. He had so much fun playing with all of his toys in the water. I think he would have stayed in there forever. Other than the boat/water Wade's favorite thing to do is ride the golf cart or help cut the grass. He loves lawnmowers and gets so excited when we see anyone cutting grass. Lawnmower is the first 3 syllable word he has said. It is so cute how he says it la-mow-mer. It just makes me laugh every time I hear him say it.

Showing us how old he is

This past week he has really started saying more and more. I think we are going to have a talker in the house. He has mastered Dada, Momma, yum, bye bye, bubble, ball, dog, wa-wa (water), ticka (tickle), baby, ba-ba (sippy cup), pop (pops-my dad), nana (banana), wow (he says this when we see "big trucks" on the road), B- bu (school bus). He tries so hard to say bird (bir).
He also still has his own language which we cannot understand! He has started saying yea which drives me crazy and we always try to get him to say yes instead but he can only say yea. His new thing is dancing... anytime he hears music those chubby little legs bend and he dances. I have to get it on video it is so sweet.

So excited about his eggs
